It can require a visitor to acknowledge the statement before submitting. The field records the checkbox value; it does not by itself determine whether your site\u2019s data practices comply with privacy laws.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add and configure GDPR Consent<\/h2>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the form in the drag-and-drop editor.<\/li>\n<li>Add <strong>GDPR Consent<\/strong> from <strong>Advanced Fields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>General Settings<\/strong>, edit <strong>Field Label<\/strong> if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Set <strong>Consent Text<\/strong> to explain what the visitor is agreeing to. The default text says the site may store submitted information to respond to the inquiry.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally enter your page address in <strong>Privacy Policy URL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Set <strong>Is Required?<\/strong> to <strong>yes<\/strong> if the visitor must accept before submitting. The default is <strong>yes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally add <strong>Instructional Text<\/strong>, then save the form.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the privacy-policy link works<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a <strong>Privacy Policy URL<\/strong> is supplied and the <strong>Consent Text<\/strong> contains the words \u201cPrivacy Policy\u201d, the field replaces that phrase with a link. To show the automatic link, include that phrase in the consent statement and verify the link on the published form. If the phrase is absent, do not assume the URL will be inserted as a separate link automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verify the consent behavior<\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With the default required setting, leaving the checkbox unchecked should trigger a validation error.<\/li>\n<li>When checked, the submitted value is <strong>yes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the statement specific about what information is collected and why.<\/li>\n<li>Update the wording and link when your privacy policy or processing purpose changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consent capture is separate from the plugin\u2019s visitor-tracking controls. Review <strong>Settings \u2192 GDPR \/ Privacy<\/strong> separately if you use visitor analytics.
