You can enter a Gemini API key in TranslateSense or use a compatible WordPress AI Connector when the plugin detects one and it is installed and configured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before you begin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Install and activate TranslateSense and Polylang.<\/li>\n<li>For direct API configuration, have a Google AI Studio API key. Use <a href=\"https:\/\/aistudio.google.com\/app\/apikey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google AI Studio API keys<\/a> to create or manage a key.<\/li>\n<li>If TranslateSense displays a WordPress AI Connector for Google Gemini, configure the provider in WordPress Connectors rather than duplicating its credentials in TranslateSense.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configure Google Gemini<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open <strong>Languages \u2192 TranslateSense<\/strong>. If Polylang is not active, the settings page is registered under <strong>Settings \u2192 TranslateSense<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>AI Translation Engines &amp; Models<\/strong>, enable <strong>Google Gemini AI<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you are using direct API configuration, enter your key in <strong>Gemini API Key<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>When the provider is connected, choose an available option from <strong>Translation Model<\/strong>. The list is supplied by the available provider configuration and may vary.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>Google Gemini AI<\/strong> in <strong>Default Engine<\/strong> if Gemini should be the default provider.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Save Settings<\/strong>, or press <strong>Ctrl + S<\/strong> while the settings form is active.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If WordPress AI Connector is shown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the displayed link to manage the Google Gemini connector in WordPress Connectors. Confirm that the connector is active and connected. When a connector is installed and selected for a request, a disconnected or inactive connector can cause the request to fail instead of falling back to the direct Gemini API.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verify the setup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confirm that Gemini is enabled and its status and model list are available. Test with a small, non-sensitive translation. If the request fails, check the credential or connector state, model availability, and Google AI account limits.
