It avoids configuring an external vector database service. The current PHP adapter stores embeddings in plugin-managed WordPress database tables, so \u201clocal\u201d refers to storage on your WordPress installation rather than a separate SQLite file.<\/p>\n<h2>Choose local vector storage<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Click to Chat \u2192 AI Assistant \u2192 Knowledge Base \u2192 Database &amp; Indexing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Database Storage Engine<\/strong>, select <strong>SQLite (Local)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Embedding Configuration<\/strong>, select OpenAI (<code>text-embedding-3-small<\/code>) or Google Gemini (<code>gemini-embedding-001<\/code>). Configure the corresponding provider API key in the AI Engine &amp; Prompt settings before indexing.<\/li>\n<li>Save the Knowledge Base settings.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Index Content Now<\/strong> to process the selected website content and other configured sources.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for any queued indexing and embedding work to finish, then test with a question answered by the indexed content.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>When to troubleshoot<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No relevant answer:<\/strong> Confirm the right post types and sources are selected and that indexing completed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Embedding errors:<\/strong> Check the selected provider and its API key, then review the plugin\u2019s available AI error information.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Slow or incomplete results:<\/strong> Test with a smaller, clearly defined question and verify that the answer appears in the source content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SQLite storage does not remove the need for an embedding provider: the selected provider converts source text into vectors used for similarity search.
