You need a Pinecone index and its connection details, plus an embedding provider configured for the text being indexed. The plugin\u2019s settings do not create a Pinecone index for you.<\/p>\n<h2>Prepare the Pinecone index<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/app.pinecone.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pinecone Console<\/a> and create or choose an index suitable for your embedding vectors.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the index dimension matches the selected embedding provider: the current OpenAI <code>text-embedding-3-small<\/code> configuration uses 1536 dimensions, while Google Gemini <code>gemini-embedding-001<\/code> uses 768 dimensions.<\/li>\n<li>Copy an API key from Pinecone and the exact host URL for the index. In the Pinecone Console, open the index to find its host.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Connect Pinecone in Dragwyb<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>In WordPress, open <strong>Click to Chat \u2192 AI Assistant \u2192 Knowledge Base \u2192 Database &amp; Indexing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Database Storage Engine<\/strong>, select <strong>Pinecone<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>Pinecone Configuration<\/strong>, enter the Pinecone API key, host URL, and exact index name.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Embedding Configuration<\/strong>, choose OpenAI or Google Gemini and verify that its API key is configured in the AI Engine &amp; Prompt settings.<\/li>\n<li>Save the Knowledge Base settings and select <strong>Index Content Now<\/strong> to index the configured sources.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for indexing and embedding processing to finish, then ask a test question whose answer is in the selected source content.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Connection or request errors:<\/strong> Recheck the API key, host URL, and index name for typos and ensure the host belongs to the intended Pinecone index.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dimension mismatch:<\/strong> Check the index dimensions against the selected embedding provider before re-indexing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No relevant results:<\/strong> Confirm the source was included and indexed, then test with a specific question grounded in that source.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Changing vector storage does not itself create source embeddings; indexing still needs to complete. No live Pinecone connection or indexing request was run while preparing this guide.
