Install TranslateSense on a WordPress site that already meets the plugin requirements. The plugin ZIP declares WordPress 5.8 or later and PHP 7.4 or later, and TranslateSense requires Polylang for language configuration and translation relationships.
Option 1: Install from the WordPress dashboard
- Sign in to your WordPress dashboard with an account that can install plugins.
- Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
- Search for TranslateSense. If it appears in the Plugin Directory, select Install Now.
- When installation finishes, select Activate.
- Confirm that Polylang is installed and active.
Option 2: Install from a ZIP file
- Obtain the TranslateSense ZIP from the distribution channel you use and keep the ZIP file compressed.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Select the TranslateSense ZIP file and choose Install Now.
- After WordPress completes the installation, select Activate Plugin.
- Confirm that Polylang is active before configuring translation.
Update an existing installation from a ZIP file
- Back up your site and database before updating, especially if you are updating a production site.
- Obtain the intended newer TranslateSense ZIP and check its version and requirements.
- Open Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and select the ZIP file.
- Select Install Now. If WordPress offers a replacement option for the installed plugin, review the version details and choose the option to replace the current plugin with the uploaded version.
- Wait for WordPress to confirm the update. If WordPress does not offer a replacement option or reports a conflict, stop and follow the message shown by your installation rather than deleting plugin files blindly.
- Open Plugins → Installed Plugins and confirm TranslateSense remains installed and active.
Use a ZIP intended for the same plugin and distribution. Do not assume that ZIPs from different distribution channels have identical update behavior. Avoid deleting the existing plugin as a routine update step; first review the WordPress message and ensure you have a backup.
Open TranslateSense settings
With Polylang active, open Languages → TranslateSense. If Polylang is not active, the plugin registers its fallback page under Settings → TranslateSense. Activate and configure Polylang before starting a translation.
