Before using TranslateSense, confirm that your WordPress environment meets the requirements declared by the plugin and that Polylang is installed and active.
Plugin requirements
- WordPress: version 5.8 or later, according to the supplied plugin readme.
- PHP: version 7.4 or later, according to the supplied plugin readme.
- Polylang: install and activate Polylang. TranslateSense uses it for language configuration and translation relationships.
- AI provider: configure a provider and its own credentials before using provider-backed translation. The readme documents OpenAI and Google Gemini external services.
Check your setup
- Check your WordPress version in Dashboard → Updates.
- Check the PHP version in your hosting control panel or WordPress site health information.
- Open Plugins → Installed Plugins and confirm Polylang is active.
- Open Languages → Languages and confirm that the languages you need are configured.
- Open Languages → TranslateSense and review the available settings.
If TranslateSense is missing from the Languages menu, confirm that the plugin is active and that Polylang is installed. When Polylang is inactive, TranslateSense registers a fallback page under Settings → TranslateSense; this does not replace the requirement to configure Polylang for translation workflows.
