Choose a Translation Model

Select a model exposed by the connected translation provider.

The Translation Model field lists models available for the configured provider. TranslateSense obtains model options from the provider configuration when available and includes fallback choices in its settings interface. Do not assume every listed model is available to every account or remains supported by the provider.

Choose a model

  1. Open Languages → TranslateSense when Polylang is active.
  2. Enable the provider you want to use and configure its credentials, or complete the WordPress AI Connector setup if that path is shown.
  3. For a connected provider, locate its Translation Model dropdown.
  4. Select a model that is present in the current list.
  5. Set the matching provider as Default Engine if you want it selected by default.
  6. Select Save Settings to save your changes.

Default model values

On first activation, the stored defaults are gpt-4o-mini for OpenAI and gemini-1.5-flash for Google Gemini. These are configuration defaults, not a guarantee that the provider account currently supports those models. Use the options shown by the installed plugin and configured provider.

If the model list is missing or incorrect

  • Confirm that the provider is enabled.
  • Check the API key or WordPress AI Connector connection and activation status.
  • Refresh the settings page after resolving the provider configuration.
  • If a model is rejected during translation, check the provider’s current model availability and account permissions before choosing another option.
