Configure Polylang Languages

Add and configure the languages used by the site.

TranslateSense relies on Polylang to define the languages used by your site and to associate translated posts and pages. Configure these languages before starting a translation workflow.

Add or review site languages

  1. In the WordPress dashboard, open Languages → Languages.
  2. Review the languages already configured for the site.
  3. Add the languages your site needs if they are missing, following the controls provided by Polylang.
  4. Confirm the site’s default language and review the language settings.
  5. Save any changes in the Polylang interface.

Choose source and target languages

  • Source language: the language of the original post or page whose text you want to translate.
  • Target language: the language you want the translated content to use.

Before translating, open the original post or page and verify its language in Polylang. Also confirm that the intended target language is configured. Follow the translation controls shown by the editor and TranslateSense; do not treat an empty target-language post as the original source content.

TranslateSense’s available editor controls and translation behavior can depend on the active editor and plugin configuration. If the translation action does not appear, review the setup requirements and the relevant editor integration guidance.
