Use the bulk translation wizard to select source content, choose target languages, and select a translation engine. Start with a small batch so you can check the output before translating more content.
Before preparing a batch
- Confirm your Polylang languages and translation pairs are configured.
- Choose posts or pages whose post type is enabled for translation by Polylang.
- Make sure you can edit the source items and create or edit their target-language translations.
- Configure and verify a provider using AI Providers and Translation Settings.
Prepare and start the batch
- In the WordPress dashboard, open the relevant Posts or Pages list.
- Select the checkboxes beside the source posts or pages you want to translate.
- Click Translate Selected above or below the list table.
- In Select Target Languages, select the language or languages you need. Use Select All or Unselect All if helpful, then review the selected languages carefully.
- Click Next: Choose Provider.
- Under Choose Translation Engine, select an available provider. If a provider is disabled because it is not active or configured, finish its setup first. For WordPress AI Connectors, check that the provider is activated and connected.
- Review the summary showing the selected posts, languages, and total translations.
- Click Start Bulk Translation and follow the progress view.
Keep the first batch manageable
The bulk-start REST endpoint accepts up to 100 source post IDs and 50 target languages in one request. A larger request is rejected, so keep each run within those limits. The wizard’s summary helps you see how many post-language translations you are about to start.
- Start with a few representative posts and one target language.
- Check titles, content, links, formatting, and language relationships before expanding the batch.
- If you use Chrome Built-in AI, review its supported browser and language-pair requirements in Use Built-in AI Translation.
- Check Monitor Bulk Translation Progress after starting the batch.
