Configure the Post Query

Set the Post Flipbox content source, taxonomy filters, Show Post count, and Asc or Desc ordering, then verify the published results.

The Post Flipbox query determines which published WordPress records can become cards and how many items are requested. In plugin version 2.1.7, its source and query controls are in the widget’s Content → Post Settings section.

Configure the Post Flipbox query

  1. Go to WordPress dashboard → Pages → All Pages, edit the target page with Elementor, and select the Post Flipbox widget.
  2. Open Content → Post Settings.
  3. Under Post Type, choose the source. If taxonomy dropdowns are available for that type, select a term only when you want to filter the results.
  4. Set Show Post to the number of posts to request. Its default is 6. The minimum is -1, which WordPress interprets as requesting all matching posts; use this carefully on large sites.
  5. Set Order to Asc or Desc. The default is Asc (stored as ASC).
  6. Click Update, then verify the cards on the published page.

Understand taxonomy filtering

The plugin creates taxonomy dropdowns from the taxonomies registered for the selected post type. Leaving a dropdown on “Select …” does not apply a term filter. If terms are selected from multiple taxonomy dropdowns, the query uses an AND relationship: a post must satisfy all selected conditions. If too few cards appear, remove filters one at a time and check the source post’s assigned terms.

Check the returned posts

The frontend query requests posts with the publish status, so drafts and private posts are not included. Confirm that matching content is published and assigned to the chosen terms. For source selection, see Choose a WordPress Post Type; for the complete setup, see Display WordPress Posts in Flipboxes.
