Choose Form Field Types

Compare Smart Form Builder's Standard Fields, Advanced Fields, and Structure items to choose the right input or layout element for your form.

Choose a field based on the kind of information visitors need to enter or select. Smart Form Builder groups its built-in fields into Standard Fields, Advanced Fields, and Structure. The fields available on your site can also depend on the plugin’s field settings and extensions.

Add the field that fits your form

  1. Open the form editor and locate the field picker.
  2. Browse the relevant field category and choose the field type.
  3. Add it to the canvas, then select it to review its available settings.
  4. Configure the label, options, or validation settings that apply to that field type.
  5. Save the form and preview the result before publishing.

Controls differ by field type. For example, Text Field includes character-length settings, Number includes numeric limits, and Mask Field has a separate Mask Settings section. See Configure Form Field Labels and Configure Form Validation Rules for those tasks.
