Configure Submission Data Retention

Set the tracking-data retention period from 0 to 3650 days and choose whether automatic cleanup also deletes old form submission entries.

The Auto-delete tracking data after (days) setting controls when Smart Form Builder by Dragwyb removes older visitor-tracking records. It is not a general retention timer for every kind of plugin data. The default value is 0, which means tracking data is kept indefinitely by this cleanup routine.

Configure the retention period

  1. In WordPress, open Smart Form Builder → Settings → GDPR / Privacy.
  2. Enable Enable Visitor Tracking if you want to use tracking and its related cleanup controls.
  3. Set Auto-delete tracking data after (days) to a value from 0 to 3650.
  4. Review Retain Form Entries When Cleaning Tracking Data before saving.
  5. Click Save Settings.

Understand the options

  • 0 days — disables this automatic purge and keeps tracking data indefinitely.
  • 1–3650 days — the daily WordPress Cron cleanup removes older tracking records according to their timestamps.
  • Retain Form Entries When Cleaning Tracking Data: enabled (default) — tracking cleanup keeps form submission entries while removing older analytics records.
  • Retain Form Entries When Cleaning Tracking Data: disabled — the cleanup also deletes submission rows older than the selected retention period.

What the cleanup affects

The implementation removes old pageviews, events, journey records, sessions, and visitors, then cleans up visitor records that no longer have sessions. It deletes old form submission rows only when Retain Form Entries When Cleaning Tracking Data is disabled. The routine runs through a daily WordPress Cron event, so execution depends on WordPress Cron running on the site.

Choose and verify a policy

Choose a period that matches your business needs and privacy policy. Before disabling entry retention, confirm that deleting older leads or submissions is acceptable and that you have any required exports or backups. After saving, verify the setting in the admin screen. Do not assume this setting deletes uploaded files, error logs, form definitions, or every plugin record; the inspected cleanup routine does not establish that behavior.
