The File Upload field displays a file picker so a visitor can choose a file while filling in a form. In Smart Form Builder by Dragwyb 1.3.6, the field provides a label, instructional text, and a required option. The current implementation has important restrictions and does not show a complete file-transfer and storage path in the inspected submission workflow.
Add and configure the field
- Open your form in the drag-and-drop editor.
- Add the File Upload field from the Advanced Fields category.
- In Basic Settings, edit Field Label and optionally add Instructional Text.
- Enable Is Required? if the visitor must select a file for the form to pass field validation. The default is no.
- Save the form and review the field on the published page.
Current field restrictions
- The rendered input advertises these extensions: JPG, JPEG, PNG, PDF, DOC, DOCX, and TXT.
- The PHP validation enforces a maximum file size of 1 MB, despite an editor notice that says 2 MB.
- The MIME allowlist includes JPEG, PNG, PDF, and plain text, but not the common DOC or DOCX MIME types. Some files with advertised extensions can therefore be rejected.
- The inspected frontend handler serializes form values as JSON. No multipart upload transfer or file persistence routine was found in the inspected submission path.
Before using file uploads in production
Do not promise visitors that their files will be stored, attached to email, or available to administrators based on the field alone. The source inspection indicates the upload workflow needs further implementation and live testing. If file collection is essential, first correct the transfer, validation, storage, and access-control behavior, then verify it with allowed and rejected test files.
