Smart Form Builder by Dragwyb 1.3.6 includes a dedicated Captcha field with support for Google reCAPTCHA v2, Google reCAPTCHA v3, and hCaptcha. Add the field to the form and configure the matching provider keys in the plugin settings. A CAPTCHA field without a valid secret key cannot verify submissions.
Configure provider keys
- In WordPress, open Smart Form Builder → Settings.
- Open the API Keys tab.
- Enter the provider’s site key and secret key in the matching pair: reCAPTCHA v2 Site Key and reCAPTCHA v2 Secret Key, reCAPTCHA v3 Site Key and reCAPTCHA v3 Secret Key, or hCaptcha Site Key and hCaptcha Secret Key.
- Save the settings. Keep secret keys private and do not paste them into form labels, help text, or public page content.
Add and configure the CAPTCHA field
- Edit the form and add the Captcha field from the field picker.
- In Integration Settings, choose Captcha Provider: Google reCAPTCHA v2, Google reCAPTCHA v3, or hCaptcha. The default is Google reCAPTCHA v2.
- For v2 or hCaptcha, choose the available Theme (Light or Dark) and Size (Normal or Compact) options as needed.
- For reCAPTCHA v3, review Pass/Fail Score Threshold (default 0.5, range 0.1–1.0) and Badge Position (Right or Left).
- Review the field’s Error Message and save the form.
Troubleshooting
- A missing key can display a configuration error and cause server-side validation to fail.
- If the provider cannot be reached, the handler reports that it could not connect to the CAPTCHA server.
- If verification fails, check that the site and secret keys belong to the selected provider and site, then test the form again.
- For reCAPTCHA v3, a result below the configured score threshold is rejected.
The code also contains a form-level Enable reCAPTCHA switch in Advance → Security & Privacy. The inspected submission path verifies the dedicated Captcha field; do not assume that switch alone substitutes for adding and configuring the field.
