Add a Form Consent Field

Configure the GDPR Consent checkbox, edit the consent statement, optionally link the privacy policy, and decide whether consent is required.

The GDPR Consent field adds a checkbox and a consent statement to a form. It can require a visitor to acknowledge the statement before submitting. The field records the checkbox value; it does not by itself determine whether your site’s data practices comply with privacy laws.

Add and configure GDPR Consent

  1. Open the form in the drag-and-drop editor.
  2. Add GDPR Consent from Advanced Fields.
  3. Under General Settings, edit Field Label if needed.
  4. Set Consent Text to explain what the visitor is agreeing to. The default text says the site may store submitted information to respond to the inquiry.
  5. Optionally enter your page address in Privacy Policy URL.
  6. Set Is Required? to yes if the visitor must accept before submitting. The default is yes.
  7. Optionally add Instructional Text, then save the form.

How the privacy-policy link works

When a Privacy Policy URL is supplied and the Consent Text contains the words “Privacy Policy”, the field replaces that phrase with a link. To show the automatic link, include that phrase in the consent statement and verify the link on the published form. If the phrase is absent, do not assume the URL will be inserted as a separate link automatically.

Verify the consent behavior

  • With the default required setting, leaving the checkbox unchecked should trigger a validation error.
  • When checked, the submitted value is yes.
  • Keep the statement specific about what information is collected and why.
  • Update the wording and link when your privacy policy or processing purpose changes.

Consent capture is separate from the plugin’s visitor-tracking controls. Review Settings → GDPR / Privacy separately if you use visitor analytics. A consent checkbox is not a cookie-consent manager and does not automatically disable tracking until a visitor accepts.
