Use Dynamic WhatsApp Page Tags

Use {title} and {url} in a Dragwyb Click to Chat WhatsApp default message to include the current page title and URL.

Dragwyb Click to Chat supports two dynamic tags in the channel’s default message: {title} and {url}. The frontend replaces these tokens with the current page title and URL when preparing the channel message, so a visitor can share the page context with the team.

Open the WhatsApp message setting

  1. Go to Dashboard → Click to Chat → Settings → 1. General.
  2. In the Social Channels Widget module, select Configure Channels & Layout.
  3. In 1. Select Channels, enable WhatsApp and confirm the WhatsApp Number is correct.
  4. Under WhatsApp settings, enable Enable Channel Chat Popup Widget if you want the popup and greeting field to be available.
  5. In Default Greeting Message, write the message and insert the supported tags where you want page context to appear.
  6. Select Save Changes.

Supported dynamic tags

  • {title} — inserts the current page title.
  • {url} — inserts the current page URL.

For example, you can use: Hi, I have a question about {title}: {url}. When a visitor activates the channel on a page, the message is prepared with that page’s title and URL in place of the tags.

Test the generated message

  1. Save the configuration and open a page with a distinctive title.
  2. Activate the WhatsApp channel and inspect the prepared message before sending it.
  3. Confirm that the title and URL match the page you opened.
  4. Repeat on another page to ensure the context changes with the page.

Only include information you intend to share with the receiving contact. The tags provide page context; they are not a mechanism for passing private visitor data. For the full WhatsApp setup, see Configure WhatsApp. For all channel options, see Floating Widget and Social Channels.
