Configure AI Product Recommendations

Learn how Dragwyb Click to Chat recommends WooCommerce products, enables the product-search tool, displays product cards, and troubleshoots missing or inaccurate results.

Dragwyb Click to Chat can show WooCommerce product cards in the AI conversation when a visitor asks for products or shopping help. The assistant uses your published catalog to find matching items or, for explicit popular-product requests, return a small set of popular products. Product cards can display an image, product name, current formatted price, stock state, rating when available, and links to view the product or add it to the cart.

Before you begin

  • Install and activate WooCommerce.
  • Make sure the products you want to recommend are published and have accurate prices, stock status, and product links.
  • Activate and configure the Dragwyb AI Assistant and confirm it can respond to visitor messages.

How product recommendations work

In the current plugin implementation, product suggestions are selected automatically from the visitor’s message; there is no separate recommendation-type selector in Chatbot Settings.

  • Popular products: requests such as “show recommended products,” “popular products,” “best sellers,” or “browse the catalog” can return up to three products ordered by WooCommerce popularity.
  • Shopping questions: messages containing shopping terms such as “buy,” “price,” “shop,” “shoes,” “shirt,” or “recommend” trigger a catalog search. The assistant first tries a detected product interest, then may search using cleaned text from the message.
  • Catalog requirements: the recommendation logic runs only when WooCommerce is active. Product retrieval is limited to published products and the relevant result set is small, so a broad request may not show every item in the store.

Enable the WooCommerce product-search tool

The assistant’s automatic product-card response is driven by the shopping message and active WooCommerce integration. You can also enable the named WooCommerce Product Search business tool so the AI model can use the dedicated product-search tool when available.

  1. In WordPress admin, go to Click to Chat → AI Assistant.
  2. Open Chatbot Settings and select the Advance tab.
  3. Find AI Business Tools & Workflow Automation and turn on the main switch if you want the assistant to use business tools.
  4. When WooCommerce is active, enable WooCommerce Product Search in the tool list.
  5. Save the settings using the page’s available save action, then test the chat on the frontend.

Test product recommendations

Open the live chat widget and try a few distinct messages, for example:

  • “Show me popular products.”
  • “Can you recommend a shirt?”
  • “What products do you have for [a specific need or category]?”

Check that the product cards match the catalog and that the product title, image, price, stock indicator, and rating (if available) look correct. Use View to check the product page. The Add action is shown for products reported in stock; its destination depends on the product type and the generated product data, so verify the actual store behavior before relying on it.

What appears on a product card

  • Image and product name: taken from the WooCommerce product; a placeholder image can be used if the product has no image.
  • Price: formatted using the store’s WooCommerce currency and price formatting.
  • Sale badge: displayed when WooCommerce marks the product as on sale.
  • Stock status: shown as In Stock or Out of Stock based on the product data returned to the widget.
  • Rating: shown when the product has a positive average rating.
  • Product actions: View opens the product page; Add is shown when the returned product is in stock.

Troubleshooting

  • No product cards appear: confirm WooCommerce is active, the AI Assistant is available, and the message clearly asks about a product, shopping, recommendations, or the catalog.
  • The wrong items appear: test with a more specific product name or category and confirm the intended items are published and searchable in WooCommerce.
  • Product details look wrong: review the product’s image, price, sale settings, stock status, rating, and permalink in WooCommerce.
  • The dedicated tool is unavailable: check the main AI Business Tools & Workflow Automation switch and the WooCommerce Product Search checkbox in the Advance settings. The WooCommerce-specific tool appears only when WooCommerce is active.
  • Results are limited: product searches and recommendation lists are intentionally capped; this feature is not a complete catalog export.
