Use Dragwyb Click to Chat to help visitors discover published WooCommerce products through natural-language questions in the AI Assistant. When WooCommerce is active, the plugin can add live catalog context to product-related conversations, including product names, links, prices, availability, ratings, and descriptions. You can also enable the dedicated WooCommerce Product Search AI tool for tool-based product lookups.
Before you begin
- Install and activate WooCommerce and confirm that your store has published products.
- Activate and configure the Dragwyb Click to Chat AI Assistant.
- Use a test product that has a clear name, description, price, and product page.
- If you want the assistant to use the dedicated product-search tool, check that the AI Business Tools setting and the WooCommerce Product Search tool are enabled.
How AI product search works
The plugin has two related product-discovery paths. First, when WooCommerce is active, the chat controller checks whether a visitor’s message appears to concern products, buying, prices, stock, recommendations, or the store catalog. For a matching message, it searches the published catalog and adds a small set of product details to the AI prompt. If the text search finds no products, the source can fall back to popular products when available.
Second, the AI Business Tools feature registers a Search Products tool that the model can call when the tool is enabled. This tool searches the same published WooCommerce catalog and returns matching product information. The two paths are related, but enabling the tool is not the same as activating WooCommerce itself.
Enable the WooCommerce Product Search tool
- In WordPress admin, open Click to Chat → AI Assistant.
- Choose Chatbot Settings and open the Advance tab.
- Find AI Business Tools & Workflow Automation and enable it if your setup requires tool-based product lookup.
- In the available tool list, find WooCommerce Product Search and make sure its checkbox is selected. This option appears when WooCommerce is detected as active.
- Save the AI Assistant settings and wait for the save confirmation.
The source defaults enable AI business tools and include search_products in the enabled-tool list, but saved settings can differ. Check the controls in your installation rather than assuming the defaults are still in effect.
Screenshot to add: Replace the empty image above with a real screenshot of Click to Chat → AI Assistant → Chatbot Settings → Advance → AI Business Tools & Workflow Automation. Show the WooCommerce Product Search checkbox, and hide API keys, private store details, and customer information. This is a placeholder, not a captured screenshot.
Test a product question
- Open a front-end page where the AI Assistant is available.
- Ask a specific question that matches a published product, such as “Do you have a blue hoodie?” or “Show me products under my budget.” Use a product and price range that actually exist in your store.
- Review the assistant’s answer and any product result cards or links it provides.
- Open a product link and confirm that it points to the correct WooCommerce product page.
- Compare the displayed price, description, rating, and stock information with the product’s current details in WooCommerce.
- Try a query that should not match any product and check how the assistant responds. The source can fall back to popular products for some product-related prompts, so do not assume every returned item is an exact text match.
What product information can be returned?
The product formatter can supply the following information when it is available from WooCommerce:
- Product identity: product ID, title, product URL, and product type.
- Images: the product image or WooCommerce placeholder image.
- Pricing: current, regular, and sale prices, formatted price, currency symbol, and sale status.
- Availability: stock status, in-stock flag, and stock quantity where WooCommerce provides it.
- Reviews: average rating and rating count.
- Description: short description, or a shortened version of the full description when the short description is empty.
- Cart link: for simple products that are in stock, the formatter can provide an add-to-cart URL; other product types link to their product page.
The information available in the assistant’s response depends on the product data and the active conversation path. It is not a guarantee that every field will appear in every answer. The search method returns published products and limits each query to a maximum of 10 items; the usual chat context and tool defaults request a smaller set.
Troubleshoot missing or unexpected results
- No products appear: confirm WooCommerce is active and the products are published, then test a distinctive word from a product title.
- The assistant gives a general answer: ask a more specific product question and check whether the AI Assistant is responding normally.
- The product-search tool is unavailable: open the Advance tab and check AI Business Tools & Workflow Automation and the WooCommerce Product Search checkbox.
- A result is not an exact match: the context builder can fall back to popular products when the initial search returns nothing. Compare the answer with the actual catalog before relying on it.
- Price or stock appears incorrect: check the current WooCommerce product record and test again. Do not treat a previously generated conversation response as a live inventory guarantee.
